This pendant was made for a friend who had a thyroid illness, and became a calming, meditative talisman that would support her throat chakra. This Blue Chalcedony pendant is set in 18k gold surrounded by a halo of gold granulation. The pendant hangs on an 18 inch 18k gold chain with Blue Chalcedony beads spaced out along its length.

Chalcedony has been used for thousands of years for jewelry and tool making since it is easy to carve. Wax does not stick to it so it is perfect for making seals. Archeologists have found many types of objects made from this stone dating as far back as 1800 BC.
