Lightning Ridge Opal & Diamond Pendant

This mesmerizing, Lightning Ridge Australian Opal is set in a granulated 18k gold bezel with a halo of eight white Diamonds. There is something uniquely powerful about this petite, spectacular Opal. My intention was to create a magical talisman to remind you of the wonders of this beautiful world and your place in it. The back is oxidized sterling silver with 18k gold accents. The pendant hangs on an adjustable 16-18 inch oxidized sterling silver chain with an 18k gold toggle clasp.

Opal is made up of silica and a small percentage of water and is not actually a crystal. There are tiny silica spheres within the silica and water that can cause light diffraction. Opals have been used in jewelry throughout history. In Roman times the Opals were thought to bring good luck and hope.

Diamond is one of the hardest substances on earth and comes in many colors. They symbolize durability, intensity and purity. They have been treasured for thousands of years and valued for their magical properties. Kings and queens thought that they could provide access to higher powers and increased intuition.
