Lapis and 18k gold necklace

This Lapis, Emerald and Black diamond necklace is a powerful statement piece full of wonderful symbols. When designing this pendant I immersed myself in ancient Egyptian jewelry. I loved the combination of the deep blue of Lapis with the warmth of gold. Lapis is often associated with the third eye chakra and believed to enhance inner wisdom, intuition and spiritual insight. Emerald is known for its heart healing qualities and Black Diamond for its grounding and protective energy. Also, the golden spirals decorating the border symbolize rebirth, growth and evolving consciousness.

Lapis Lazuli is one of the oldest gemstones known to humanity. Lapis artifacts have been found from around 7000 BCE. Many cultures in the world used Lapis in jewelry and carvings, even building material. It was considered a sacred and spiritually significant gemstone. It is thought to enhance the third eye and the throat and aids in knowing and speaking one's truth.

Emeralds have also been prized for thousands of years. They have such a beautiful green color and were seen as a symbol of fertility and were associated with the goddess Venus. It is considered a heart stone and brings the energy of hope, encouragement and abundance.

Diamond is one of the hardest substances on earth. It is a crystal of pure carbon. Diamonds come in many colors. They symbolize durability, intensity, and purity. They have been treasured for thousands of years and valued for their magical properties. Kings and queens thought that they could provide access to higher powers and increased intuition. Black Diamonds are a carbon isotope which make them slightly harder to cut than clear Diamonds. They absorb light rather than reflect it, but glitter from their reflective shiny surfaces. Black Diamond symbolizes authority and power.
